New Sake Brand “DAN” is created by Sasaichi Brewery from Yamanashi Prefecture established in 1919. Inherited with more than 100 years’ of craftsmanship, Mr Yukinorai Amano, owner of the winery (2013) and Mr Rei Amano, Senior Managing Director of the winery, created this new brand in 2013. They searched through all prefectures of Japan to choose the best wine-making koji rice, and used the premium quality soft water from Mount Fuji as the Water Supply, together with superior wine-making techniques of Mr Masakazu Ito, the famous Noto Toji in Japan and adopted the traditional Yamahai Brewing Method, which have created the unparalleled fresh sensation yet unforgettably delicate umami on your palate!
The brand name “DAN” denotes the meanings of “Number 1 in Japan”, “Mount Fuji, the Number 1 in Japan” and “A Fresh Start” in Japanese.
